In the FMA kiln combustion is ensured by an air/gas modulated system with ratio correction. This guarantees maximum flexibility and output and optimised consumption.

FMA+ is the modulated air/gas roller kiln with ratio correction that reduces CO2 emissions, assures optimal consumption in relation to the product, supports replicability of production conditions of the tiles and is flexible in all conditions. To optimise energy savings, the kiln can be equipped with various thermal recovery systems.

New burners

With the new burners, combustion is optimal and able to reduce unburnt residues in all operative conditions. The burners are further away from the material to obtain greater turbulence, optimise the exchange and improve temperature consistency in the channel. This also leads to a reduction in consumption with regard to the number of tiles produced and firing curve.

New Design

The modern and functional design of the FMA+ kiln matches the colours and shapes of Continua+. The new casings are easily removed and make maintenance technicians’ activities easier.

Insulation

Using higher performance materials and thickness and redesigning the roller block area has resulted in optimised insulating ability of the cladding. As a consequence, this has not only led to reducing consumption and thermal dispersion (-6%), but to improving the quality of operators’ work thanks to cooler metal frames.

Rapid Cooling

In order to increase stability during transient situations such as format changeover and production voids, burners have been installed in the Rapid Cooling. What is more, the air fed into rapid cooling is split: the first is used for planarity control, whereas the second is used to optimise the outfeed temperature of the material.

Modulated air/gas

The system only uses the necessary volumes for the various products, optimising their quantity for the flue and CO2 emissions. With modulated air/gas, which can be set by zone, there is total flexibility in kiln control in any situation, replicability of production conditions of the tiles and optimisation of consumption according to the product.

Kiln volume control

In addition to the pressure transducer for monitoring the firing fumes, a pressure transducer is installed, with automatic regulation even in cooling. This system makes it possible to monitor pressure and volumes along the kiln. During production voids or format changeovers, it is thus possible to preserve the quality of the material output.
