The ‘Casual Dinnerware’ category sponsored by SACMI saw the prize go to Pott Bowl by Bonnà on account of a minimalist look designed to enhance the centrality and taste of the food. Thus continues an event which pits over 200 collections against each other every year. In short: a feast of new tableware ideas, technologies and know-how
y China!, Pott Bowl, Kaze, Beautiful Creatures and Honour Collection were just some of the projects to take home awards from the 2023 edition of Tableware International Awards of Excellence.
Sponsored by SACMI, the contest is organized by Tableware International magazine. Every year it compares at least 200 products developed by leading brands from all over the world. Its judges are leading retail buyers and internationally renowned designers.
The competition has several categories and this year saw SACMI renew its sponsorship of Casual Dinnerware, a category that includes offerings from the major ceramic, porcelain and bone china plate brands and several complete tableware collections.
The winner was Pott Bowl by Bonnà (a brand of Kar Porcelain, Turkey), a product line built around a simple, minimalist look. With its natural earth-like colouring, the application of reactive glazes and artistic texturing that draws on ceramic tradition, the Pott Bowl Collection puts the emphasis back on the food, presenting it in a way that enhances awareness and pleasure.
As in 2021, SACMI's sponsorship of the event followed the We ARE Tableware formula, an approach that focuses on developing new products and technologies, enhancing products and building industrial know-how together with customers from all over the world to boost quality, sustainability and automation.
