SACMI is the Italian leading manufacturer of machines and complete plants across many different industrial fields and today one of the prominent technology supplier for the PM industry with over 70 presses supplied in the last 5 years across five continents, all of them efficiently served by the SACMI GROUP’s many local branches.
Three years ago, SACMI was the first to introduce a graphical cycle simulator into its Assisted Programming Interface (API) a tool that quickly established itself as a must-have feature, receiving the praise of Customers worldwide that saw their tasks simplified and quickened. Since then, a team of dedicated engineers has continuously worked on integrating new, smart functions into the API making it the most advanced yet straightforward software suite for powder metal producers.
This smart HMI guides operators worldwide through the whole set-up process: it automatically generates the best pressing curves based on the part’s geometrical characteristics using a graphical wizard procedure that drastically reduces programming time and minimizes risks of tool damage. Moreover, production of complex parts, different cycle options and the consequent tool/pressing movements can be easily tested even before pressing a single part, thanks to the integrated graphical cycle simulator. After pressing the first samples API works for you in fine-tuning the products as well: starting from in-field data, the programs helps in optimizing the part’s mechanical properties such as heights, weights and densities that can be automatically adjusted on each single level.
SACMI’s Assisted Programming Interface is nowadays the most flexible programming solution ranging from a completely automatic set-up down to single parameter configuration allowing the most experienced technicians to add their specific know-how to the process tuning. In addition, the API comes in office version too giving product engineers and tool designer the freedom to experiment using the cycle simulator and offering a common interface with the production department.
