Sacmi: new service area

A new Sacmi Group production and services facility is to be built at Casalgrande in the province of Reggio Emilia. The site will cover a total of 75,000 square meters of which 30 thousand will be dedicated to offices and production plants. Formerly the property of the Continental ceramic factory, the area and the project (valued at around 25 million Euros) will bring together numerous Group production activities and provide new offices for the Group’s service companies Prototipo (IT consultancy), Italiansped (logistics and transport) and Sinergia (administration). The three companies will continue supplying services to other Group companies and also extend them to third parties. Prototipo and Italiansped, in fact, invoice over 50% directly on the market.
Driving this investment is the Sacmi Group’s desire to concentrate the above activities in the Casalgrande area and so create a production and logistics centre that is better-placed in terms of motorway access. Kemac, the Group’s third-firing specialist, will be re-located inside the Sacmi Forni site (the latter celebrated its 20th anniversary this year): afterwards trim kilns and relative accessories, ceramic industry kilns and integrated solutions for sorting, packaging, palletization and tile handling will all be supplied by a single production facility.
Moreover, Sacmi Molds&Dies at Sassuolo will be extended with the construction of a new press overhaul plant. The office building will also be enlarged to incorporate Sacmi Impianti Fiorano and so offer customers from the area improved technical and after-sales assistance services.
