Over 2,000 m2 of beverage&packaging technology will soon be on show at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2017, the international event being held in the world's gambling capital, at the heart of the State of Nevada from 25 to 27 September.
With volumes of 20 million dollars and a ready-to-ship spare parts stock valued at some 8 million dollars, the Sacmi Group sees the USA as crucial. One of the Group's top five world markets in terms of sales, it also has a local branch, Sacmi USA, which has been providing customers with assistance and aftermarket services since 1994. Buoyed by these figures, the Group welcomes the opportunity to show the over 30,000 visitors expected in Las Vegas its latest technology and complete plants for the beverage&closures sector.
On one hand, at the Sacmi corner (n° 6249, inside the Italian area), visitors can find out more about our cutting-edge machines, now with even higher performance and productivity and lower consumption. On the other, Sacmi USA staff will be available to illustrate new integrated platforms that, with an eye to Industry 4.0, make every single stage of the beverage line - from preform to cap, from filling to labelling - part of a single manufacturing logic.
A completely new approach to manufacturing that, states Vezio Bernardi, general manager of Sacmi's Closures & Containers Division, has dual significance: “On one side, in 2017 Sacmi continues to offer the market plenty of new features on its individual machines, which still constitute the heart of the Group's technological and plant engineering range. On the other, Sacmi has developed integrated platforms to maximise line efficiency and offer its customers unprecedented opportunities. These include the new HeroBlock, the solution that combines the stretch-blowing, filling, closing and labelling processes all on one machine, thus optimizing time, space and resources. Also available is the advanced CPB 'link' buffer for caps and preforms, which brings the bottler and converter worlds closer together, with potential wall-to-wall or in-house manufacturing solutions”.
Sacmi provides further added value in the form of total quality control, ensured by integrating individual machines with vision systems. Designed by the Sacmi Automation & Inspection Systems Division, these are installed directly on the line and execute all-round inspection of every single aspect of the cap, preform, container and label. With Sacmi, plant supervision is nothing less than a system capable of interconnecting the individual department nodes (H.E.R.E., Human Expertise for Reactive Engineering) and providing valuable feedback on manufacturing line operation. The goal? To boost average plant efficiency and transform the principles of Industry 4.0 into tangible advantages.
Moreover, Sacmi's participation in Las Vegas will be followed, in 2018, by its attendance at what will be the industry's biggest fair: Pack Expo Chicago (stand S-2066, display area 70 m2), where the Group will be showcasing multiple new developments on the technology and plant engineering fronts.
