Investments in Sacmi technology made by Ceram Divindus Unité de Ghazaouet, part of the Algerian Divindus Group. Within an ambitious modernization programme by the mother company which exceeds a total of 30 million euro invested over five years in the different production units/brands of the Group, the sanitaryware factory at Ghazaouet commissioned Sacmi for the supply of a new complete drying line.
The first dryer with 21 cars is set up to handle 110 thousand pieces per year of fine fire clay, with 2 cycles per day (167 pieces per cycle). A second machine is dedicated, on the other hand, to vitreous china and consists of a 42-car dryer capable of processing 667 pieces per cycle (with 2 cycles per day) for a total of 440 thousand pieces per year. Both these cone dryers are equipped with manual single-wing hinge doors designed for easy installation according to the existing plant layout.
These modern Sacmi machines are provided with all the latest features to guarantee perfect quality of the dried product, with particular reference to control of the humidity level, water pressure (60 atmosphere) and operating temperatures during the drying process (90 °C).
A fundamentally important stage of the ceramics production process, the drying phase is particularly delicate due to the many risks which the pieces left to harden at ambient temperature are exposed to.The use of SACMI fast dryers makes it possible for the pieces harden in a controlled way, thus ensuring homogenous shrinkage and preventing typical defects such as cracks and breakage. The possibility to set different drying cycles according to the particular product to be processed offers the factory the necessary flexibility to handle very different types of models from vitreous china to fine fire clay products tohigh quality standards.
