SACMI @ ProPak Asia 2026

SACMI @ ProPak Asia 2026

From 10 to 13 June, at its new venue in Bangkok, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, SACMI will showcase its technologies for the production of caps and preforms, including new solutions for PET and cellulose, as well as preform inspection using the AI PVS Robot, which will be on display and in operation at the stand throughout the event.

ProPak Asia 2026 is set to open at its new venue in Bangkok, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, further reaffirming its status as the leading packaging event in South-East Asia. Within this context, SACMI offers an integrated solution for the packaging sector, spanning materials and technologies for the production of caps and preforms, through to innovative systems for process quality control. Including new solutions for PET and cellulose, aimed at setting new standards for sustainability, functionality and aesthetics within the sector.

A single partner throughout the supply chain

SACMI operates as a comprehensive technology partner, thanks to an integrated platform that covers every stage of the rigid packaging process: beyond individual machines, the company boasts a portfolio of integrated solutions and advanced expertise that enable plants to become more efficient, competitive and sustainable.

Drawing on its unique knowledge of materials and production processes, SACMI has developed targeted solutions to reduce the weight of bottle-and-cap systems, while at the same time meeting the functional, aesthetic and regulatory standards required by the market. The starting point is always product consultation, supporting the customer at every stage, from the initial design through to the complete industrial solution.

PET and cellulose: new opportunities

In line with the latest market trends, SACMI has developed the concept and design for a new PET cap that will serve as an alternative solution for the production of premium capsules developed with a focus on simplicity, the circular economy and performance compliance. The new cap is made from standard PET or rPET for bottles, without any treatments or additives that could affect its recyclability, and is manufactured using CCM (Continuous Compression Moulding) technology. Cutting and folding take place directly on the production line, as do the quality control checks.

Alongside this, there is growing interest in cellulose-based applications, for which SACMI is showcasing the Cellulose DMT Line at the trade fair, a solution for the production of single-use capsules, containers and caps based on dry moulding technology: a response to the demand for natural materials and alternatives to plastic, backed by SACMI’s full guarantee of reliability and process control.

From plastic to metal (PVC-free): the technological proposal

From product advice to a comprehensive technical solution: in addition to its established CCM range of cap-making machines, SACMI also offers the IPS range of injection moulding machines for preform production, developed to meet the high productivity and digital process control needs.

In the aluminium capsule sector, the focus is on the transition to PVC-free solutions, with production and sealing technologies that have now become a market benchmark and a distinctive global offering.

Quality control and advanced automation

Another highlight at ProPak Asia 2026 is the new frontier in process control with the PVS ROBOT, the off-line preform inspection solution developed with a view to total automation. The system eliminates the need for any manual intervention: from product handling to format changeover, everything is done automatically, reducing the risk of errors and making the process more stable and repeatable.

Thanks to the combination of SCARA handling robots, an automatic format magazine and a modular design, PVS ROBOT delivers high output rates — up to 1,200 preforms per hour (800 with weighing) — with precision comparable to that of a laboratory. The inspection covers preforms from different presses, without stopping the line, thanks to the automatic format changeover.

The PVS Robot incorporates the “robot in, error out” principle, utilising roller positioners, bin picking with an anthropomorphic robot and 3D sensors. Integration with new advanced features is also available, such as the “smart reject” function for the automatic rejection of defective preforms, and the Classy AI system for the automatic classification of defects using Artificial Intelligence.

Service excellence thanks to the SACMI Global Network

With a direct presence in South-East Asia, SACMI supports its customers throughout each stage of the project: from design to development, through to technical support and the supply of spare parts. This is complemented by advanced technology and product consultancy services, designed to maximise the return on investment in SACMI technology.
