A minibus for the transport of disabled and elderly persons

A means of transport for the disabled and the elderly, letting those with special needs get around town and the surrounding area. The minibus, a Ford Ford Transit Combi 300 M worth 40 thousand Euros, was donated by the Sacmi cooperative to the A.M.I.C.I voluntary association of Imola to provide a service to all those who are unable to travel autonomously.
The vehicle will come into service in March. Founded in 2004 and supported by the Town Council of Imola, banks and local businesses, the association’s main goal is to respond to the needs of the physically challenged and the elderly by, for example, helping them apply for invalidity compensation, sorting out medical-legal problems, providing consultancy services and - of course - transport. The minibus will provide a transport service that covers the entire area; the purpose of the association - president Carlo Toschi and vice president Gabriele Nanni - in fact, is to give persons with mobility problems day-to-day assistance and create a network of volunteers who, together with the local authorities, are striving to build a city that can be accessed by anyone”.
