The new Auditorium in the San Domenico museum is named after Aldo Villa

The new Auditorium in the San Domenico Museum is to be named after Aldo Villa, Sacmi Imola’s former Managing Director who died prematurely in 1987. This facility will host concerts and the study sessions essential to the convent’s museum work: the auditorium is thus set to become one of the city’s cultural focus points. “Sacmi”, points out Domenico Olivieri, President of Sacmi, “made a significant contribution to the auditorium because we believed it was important for us to participate in the renovation of this key cultural facility. This project involved a close partnership with the Imola City Council, aimed at promoting the expansion and improvement of museum activities at San Domenico. The founding of the Auditorium Aldo Villa commemorates a man who was a master in the fields of enterprise and cooperation and launched Sacmi on the road to success”. Aldo Villa was a key figure in the development of Sacmi: for 29 years he nurtured the company steadily, transforming it from a small mechanical firm into a multinational Group.
Internationally renowned, the former Managing Director also became the first President of the Società Ceramica Italiana (Italian Ceramic Society), the same association which, following his death, established the prestigious International Aldo Villa award.
