SACMI makes its debut at Colombiaplast 2026

Increasingly high-performance technologies for the development of lightweight, high-performance caps, combined with excellent remote and on-site assistance. From 28th September to 2nd October, SACMI will be in Bogotá for the first time to present its complete range of rigid beverage packaging solutions.

SACMI will soon be making its first appearance at Colombiaplast, from 28th September to 2nd October 2026 at the Corferias exhibition center in Bogotá. The SACMI display area will be hosted in the Italian Pavilion, where visitors can explore a full range of cap and preform production solutions.
Technologies, process expertise and integrated services - from cap design to support throughout the entire plant lifecycle - make SACMI the stand-out on the industry’s global supplier scene. This debut confirms SACMI’s strategic interest in the Colombian market as part of its increasingly strong, far-reaching presence in Latin America.

Lightweight: less raw material, same performance

Lighter caps and bottles mean fewer raw materials, resulting in lower economic and environmental costs, thus making production more sustainable and competitive. Lightweighting is now the industry’s main driver, and SACMI is leading the way.
Based on an in-depth understanding of materials and processes, this approach is also backed by the expertise of the Rigid Packaging Lab, a facility accredited by the industry's major global brand owners. The SACMI Lab provides customers with close support right from the start, with integrated design of the neck-cap system and comprehensive performance testing prior to industrial validation.
Each project seeks to achieve the best balance of lightness, functionality and quality; targeted lightweighting solutions can be developed for caps already in use with individual customers-markets or entirely new proposals can be created.
The extremely broad range of new high-performance standards includes, for example: new caps for 26/22 and 25/22 mm necks (also available in tethered versions), lightweight water solutions weighing less than one gram, and multi-purpose caps that significantly reduce plastic usage compared to traditional standards. Each configuration can be tailored to the product, the market and the customer’s specific needs.

CCM and IPS: balancing productivity and control

For cap production, SACMI’s CCM (Continuous Compression Molding technology) is the international benchmark for quality, reliability and productivity. Compared to alternative technologies, compression is performed at lower temperatures, thus reducing energy consumption and on-material stress. The result: outstanding dimensional stability, less waste and efficient management, even with lightweight, high-speed production.
The latest addition to the range is the CCM80SB, which can produce up to 4,000 caps per minute. Note that this press - the most productive on the market - can be integrated with the new high-performance SFM slitting machine. CCM technology is further complemented by the IPS (Injection Preform System) PET preform manufacturing range, recently expanded with the new IPS 500. SACMI injection presses combine productivity, flexibility and process control, with integrated quality control and the ability to perform new robotic inspections with PVS Robot.
The winning combination of CCM and IPS lets SACMI approach each project as an integrated system, ensuring work on cap, neck and preform is smoothly coordinated. Customers can thus optimize not just the performance of individual machines, but overall packaging efficiency.

Automatic inspection: new SMART PACK™ and SMART CARE™ digital packages

The SACMI range also features vision systems and digital tools that check 100% of production. Automatic inspection doesn’t just verify cap and preform quality: it also provides valuable process information, such as fast identification of any drifts or faults.
The new SMART PACK™ and SMART CARE™ software packages, available across the entire range, also allow monitoring of machine performance and ‘health’: this streamlines the operator’s duties, improves continuity of production and makes task scheduling more effective.

SACMI Global Network: always at the customer's side

Alongside the individual technologies, another distinctive feature of the SACMI approach is the availability of worldwide assistance before, during and after the sale; services range from machine installation and start-up to operator training, preventive maintenance and the supply of spare parts.
In-depth expertise, remote assistance and on-site support allow us to respond quickly to requests and identify the solution that best matches each facility. The SACMI S.P.A.C.E. portal offers innovative digital tools, such as complete access to technical documentation and spare parts: a flexible and proactive service model designed to speed up work, prevent machine downtime and ensure consistent performance over time.
