Following the PCM200, this leading Indian player installs a new PCM300, an exceptional pressure casting solution that, thanks to increased clamping force, lets manufacturers handle all complex items, with outstanding versatility and low energy consumption.
Umberto Ceramics (Ariane Group) continues its production expansion plan with the installation of a new PCM300 ‘GREEN’ by SAMA-SACMI. Located in Gujarat State, India, this plant specializes in the manufacture of high-end porcelain for the Ho-Re.Ca sector.
Hence, in recent years, the decision to invest in state-of-the-art technology to implement the company's ambitious growth plans: supplied by SAMA, that technology includes a full complement of isostatic pressing, glazing and pressure casting systems.
On the pressure casting front, a new PCM300 now enters service alongside the previously installed PCM200: like the latter, it is designed to handle articles with two-part molds but, thanks to increased tonnage (up to 150 tons per head), it can also cast extremely deep articles, including trays and irregular, oval pieces.
This solution is ideal for managing small batches and complex, diversified production mixes, such as individual ‘special’ pieces within tableware collections. These characteristic items can comprise a variety of shapes and include undercuts or other complex elements that the PCM handles with ease thanks to dedicated molds and machine functions.
Like all the presses in SAMA's new ‘GREEN SERIES’, the PCM300 is designed to optimize consumption, with special design features and advanced sensors allowing electricity savings of up to 30% compared to traditional systems.
With this latest investment, Umberto Ceramics renews its partnership with SAMA and looks to the future: it continues to expand and remains faithful to its export-oriented vision by focusing on technological innovation and, at the same time, meticulously upgrading aesthetics, colors and product design.
