Sacmi robotized glazing, Ceram Divindus Unité de Ghazaouet doubles its investment in Sacmi solutions

Ceram Divindus Unité de Ghazaouet, part of the Algerian Divindus Group, has invested in Sacmi glazing solutions to complete an ambitious modernisation programme that aims to boost product quality and quantity. The first two Sacmi glazing lines, configured to manufacture a total of 520,000 pieces (1,575 pieces a day), in both fine fire clay (113) and vitreous china (1,462), have already been tested and started up.

Every single stage – inspection, glazing, loading and unloading – is automated to maximise efficiency and ensure flawless glazed product quality. More specifically, each line features two inspection booths with running water curtain filters, a manual siphon glazing unit and a 4-position carousel.

All loading and unloading tasks are performed with the aid of belts and conveyors; a foot cleaning system (sponge) intervenes at the line outfeed. The firm's decision to purchase the GDA80 glazing gun should also be pointed out: this new, needleless Sacmi solution is proving to be highly popular as it eliminates maintenance requirements while boosting glazed product quality and homogeneity.

With the first two lines now operational, a doubling of capacity is already in the pipeline. In fact, a further two solutions for the manufacture of another 554,000 pieces a year (1,679 a day) - with the option of strengthening fine clay (shower tray, washbasin) glazing operations - are already being supplied.

For Sacmi, this order underscores the soundness of the successful partnership with the Divindus Group. In recent years, in fact, their Algerian manufacturing plants have invested over 30 million euros in new technology and plant equipment.
