Eczaçıbası confirms its WC casting choice: the AVM150

Turkish manufacturer Vitra, part of the Eczaçıbası Group and a leading sanitaryware producer with an output capacity of over 5 million articles a year, has confirmed its decision to go for Sacmi AVM150 single-mould technology, which mounts 7-part resin moulds.

Following an initial purchase in 2014 and the excellent results in terms of quality, efficiency and output capacity, the Bozüyük plant now has eight active AVM150 modules, a clear indicator of complete customer satisfaction.

Vitra has seized on the advantages of a configuration with two AVM150 machines, an anthropomorphous robot, an FPV pre-drier and various piece handling, rotation and finishing devices, all part of a system for the high pressure casting of complex, rimmed and rimless, back-to-wall and wall-mounted WCs.

More specifically, the FPV pre-drier allows controlled, homogeneous lowering of WC moisture content; this reduces risk of deformation and any consequent waste and also allows handling of the piece until its loading on the drier car (thanks to quick hardening, about 1.5 hours).

The AVM cells installed at Vitra feature outstanding flexibility, which is an absolute must on markets that demand ever-more frequent model changes, but with as little disturbance to production flows as possible.

Vitra is pushing ahead with high pressure casting development by applying Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles while, in parallel, focusing on energy savings and sustainable development.
