Sacmi ceramic sanitaryware technology goes back a long way. The first Sacmi-made complete sanitaryware plants, installed both in Italy and abroad, date back to the 1960s.
More recent years have, thanks to the patient work of staff at the technological development lab and pilot plant, brought this unique knowledge between the covers of a 400 page book.
The first edition, published in 2010, was the outcome of over a year's meticulous work that saw the team trawl through bibliographies, papers, research dissertations and experimental reports, all with a strong focus on high pressure casting.
In subsequent years the volume was translated into several languages and has itself gone on to become one of Sacmi's key technological and know-how assets, all of which are available to customers investing in high-end technology.
Thanks to close teamwork with VITRA, a top European sanitaryware exporter and Turkey's leading manufacturer, the book was recently published in Turkish.
A thousand copies have since been donated to SERSA (Ceramic Sanitaryware Manufacturers Association), providing upcoming generations of workers in the Turkish sanitaryware sector with a valuable source of knowledge.
The book was officially handed over during the recent UNICERA fair, held in Istanbul from 27 February to 03 March, with a delegation from Sacmi giving a copy to the President of SERSA, Mehmet Mercan.
