The winner of the 13th edition of the “Aldo Villa” prize is Professor Giovanni Aliprandi. A true connoisseur of ceramic technology and refractory materials in particular, Aliprandi will receive his Award this coming 21st November at midday during the official ceremony to be held at the Confindustria Ceramica Conference Hall (Sassuolo, via Monte Santo 40).
Now in its 13th edition, the Award is promoted by the Società Ceramica Italiana in memory of the engineer Aldo Villa – the first president of the Società and a former General Manager of Sacmi Imola – and is assigned to an Italian or foreign personality who has done outstanding work in the ceramic industry in its widest sense, from entrepreneurship to research, from design to culture.
The prize-giving ceremony will be preceded by the “Refractories for glassworks” seminar which will include a speech by Aliprandi himself – the author, among other things, of numerous international publications – and other key exponents of the Italian refractory industry.
