CDK Integrated Industries: a new porcelain tiles factory in Nigeria with Sacmi technology

Located some 80 km north of Nigeria's capital city of Lagos, CDK Integrated Industry Limited is a leading manufacturing company in Nigeria specialized in the production of high quality porcelain tiles to meet global demand of both local and surrounding markets (Liberia, Ghana, etc.), but also Europe.

Focused on the manufacture of high-end ceramic for the local market, the company has now completed a far-sighted investment by installing a complete Sacmi line for the manufacture of glazed porcelain tiles.

The new factory, with a capacity of 3,500,000 m2 a year of porcelain tiles, uses the finest raw materials and highest and most modern technology provided by SACMI. At the heart of this new line, lies Sacmi's 9,000-litre ATE 90 spray dryer, which feeds two PH 3020 presses for the production of medium to large size tiles. Sacmi has also supplied a 5-tier EM5 dryer with a 285 mm wide inlet, a complete glaze preparation department and a new Sacmi FCC roller kiln. The latter, no less than 180.6 metres long and with a 2950 mm wide inlet, is one of the highest-performing kilns in Africa.

Featuring all the latest heat recovery technology, the kiln is equipped with an SPR system designed to boost energy savings and efficiency. Last but not least, Sacmi has also supplied three complete sorting lines, produced by Nuova Sima, the Group Company that specialises in the design of logistics and end-of-line solutions; two of these are for the kiln department and one for the finishing department.

The plant produces 60x60, 30x60, 40x40, 45x90 and 60x120 cm of matt glazed and glazed polished tiles of European and international standards. The superior quality is achieved by continuous adherence to international quality standards in line with BS EN ISO 9001: 2015. Its porcelain tiles are subject to stringent tests and quality control procedures at every stage during the manufacturing process, ensuring its durability, functionality, reliability and sustainability at all times. The specifications include (but are not limited to) minimal water absorption – less than 0.5%, apparent porosity, apparent relative density, bulk density, resistance to deep abrasion, surface abrasion and thermal shock.

Sacmi has thus confirmed again its role as a strategic partner for the development of all-round ceramic manufacturing capacity, while CDK Integrated Industries has restated its commitment to quality, reliability, sustainability, as well as to European technology, with the aim to strengthen its position as industry leader in both Nigeria and the West Africa region.
