Two new AVM with robot recently installed, bringing the total number of high-pressure casting solutions running at the Gallese (VT) plant to 16. GSI chooses SACMI products once more within its investment plan for complete automation of casting.
GSI (Gruppo Sanitari Italia) continues its investments in latest-generation SACMI technology for the production of ceramic sanitaryware. Two new casting cells have recently been commissioned, consisting of AVM and robot for the production of various models of WC bowls, completing a further step towards complete automation of the casting process.
A renowned solution throughout the world for the manufacture of complex WCs, the system chosen by GSI this time, as with the previous supplies, stands out due to its high level of automation: the robot controls all operations for piece demoulding, finishing (unfired piece) and loading onto the car for the next steps. Furthermore, with the AVM, the entire cycle is carried out in programmable work stages, so that all variables can be personalized and product change-over times reduced.
With the 2 casting cells just started up, the total number of SACMI RobotCasting solutions installed at GSI’s plant - based in Gallese (VT), Italy - comes to 16, made up of AVM, ADM, ADS and AVI. 4.0 management and the advanced tracking functions monitoring each stage of production – from casting to glazing – are the hallmarks of GSI’s strategy to optimize all work stages according to the specific lot to be produced, by limiting manual operations and improving working conditions for the operators.
This new investment seals a successful industrial partnership of twenty years – GSI was choosing SACMI high pressure solutions back in 2003 – and promises future ceramic sanitaryware production aimed at achieving repeatable quality, reduction of waste and inefficiencies as well as improvement of the factory environment.
