Sacmi finances Imola’s new technological centre

Thanks to support from Sacmi, Imola Town Council and other local businesses and financial bodies, the international computerised university, Uninettuno, has set up its first Italian technological centre in Imola. The facility in via Fratelli Bandiera - where students take exams, secretarial work is carried out and complementary meetings and seminars with lecturers, tutors and other student are held – will, this coming academic year, also be the seat of a degree course in Economics and Business Administration.

Once again Sacmi has confirmed its involvement in the local community by sponsoring and promoting an important initiative. The new degree course aims to provide graduates in Economics and Business Management; a key aspect of the course will be constant liaison with private and public bodies active in the Imola area. The course also has a strong international flavour thanks to online connections with renowned universities and study centres around the globe.

The presence of an actual “physical” centre is important for Imola. Because, while this is a “distance-learning” university where the world’s top lecturers teach within a space that is largely virtual, Uninettuno still sees its technological centres as the system’s focal points: this is because they provide, among other things, all the technology students need to follow the distance learning courses and participate in video-conferencing activities.

Qualifications obtained at the new Imola technological centre will be valid worldwide. The organisational and structural model of Uninettuno immediately struck Sacmi as being a winning formula because it gives the courses a high degree of flexibility and personalisation, thus providing students with up-to-date information and professional training that meets the needs of society and the modern world of work.
